Random Book Picker

Hey, friends 👋

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet lately. Over the last two weeks, we received so much feedback from you, and we wanted to take the time to work through as much of it as possible 💪 while also building something a little bigger.

And now, Leero 1.2.1 is here ✨

  1. Random Book Picker
Can’t decide what to read next? Let Leero choose for you. Scroll through your books, find the one that feels right, and make it your next read. We really put our hearts into this feature. We recorded the sounds ourselves, spent days drawing the bookshelf by hand, and obsessed over the little details to make the whole experience feel playful and special.
So yes 🔊 turn your sound on when you try it!

  2. Fine-Tune Your Book Picks
You’re in control of what goes into the Random Book Picker. Include or exclude individual books, filter by format, and choose which reading statuses should be part of your random selection.

  3. More Flexible Reading Sessions
Reading progress is now easier to track across different formats. E-books can use percentage-based progress even without page or chapter counts, session duration can be turned off, and audiobook listening time can be calculated automatically from your percentage progress.

  4. Cleaner Activity Calendar
We fixed an issue that could cause duplicate book icons to appear in the Activity Calendar. Each book is now displayed only once, keeping your reading history cleaner and easier to read.

  5. Improved Activity Calendar Sharing
Shared calendars now display book covers in their original aspect ratio for a more natural look. We also added a "Show audiobooks" option, so you can choose whether audiobook activity appears when sharing.

  6. More Precise Book Ratings
You can now use half-star ratings for individual review categories and set your own overall average rating, giving you more freedom to rate a book exactly how you want.

  7. Reading Stats for the iOS Widget
The Current Reading widget now gives you more control over the stats you see. Choose between stats for your current book or your overall reading activity.

  8. Import from Bookmory & StoryGraph
Moving to Leero is now easier. You can import your entire library from Bookmory or StoryGraph, so you don’t have to rebuild everything from scratch.

  9. Stability & Reliability Improvements
We’ve also made a lot of technical improvements behind the scenes to make Leero more stable, reliable, and consistent. These updates should help the app feel smoother and reduce unexpected issues during everyday use.

And Android readers, we haven’t forgotten about you. We’re working on bringing the widget experience to Android too, and we hope to share more soon 💪

Thank you so much for all your feedback, ideas, messages, and support. A lot of what we build comes directly from the things you tell us, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’re helping us shape Leero together.

Download Leero 1.2.1, try the new update, and have fun picking your next read!

Happy reading 💜,
Leero Team

New Share Screens

Hello, friends 👋

We’re back with a new Leero update 😎 This time, we added new ways to share your reading, improved sync, and made a few smaller technical changes.

Here is what is new:

  1. Share Quotes
You can now share any note saved as a Quote. Choose a paper effect or background, or keep it simple and share only the quote text with the book title and author. You can open sharing directly from the notes list or from the quote details.

  2. Share Current Reading
We like the Current Reading widget on the Home Screen, so we added a similar layout for sharing. Open any book with the Reading status and tap Pages/Chapters Read or Progress in the book details. From there, you can customize the colors and background, and choose to show or hide additional reading statistics. It’s an easier way to share your current progress without taking a screenshot of the whole Home Screen 😌

  3. New sharing backgrounds
We added 7 new backgrounds to Share Screens, based on patterns from Leero themes 😏 You can now use Paws, Books, Flowers, Hearts, Leaves, Snow and Space when creating your share.

  4. Sync improvements
Thanks to your feedback, we found and fixed an important issue related to sync and backups. Sync should now work more reliably between devices, and Premium users should have a safer and more stable experience when keeping their Leero data available across devices.

We also made several smaller technical improvements to improve stability and overall performance 🛠

Update Leero and try the new Share Screens 💜

Leero is Officially Launched

Yay! Leero has officially launched and is now available for everyone 🎉

Before the official release, we updated the app and introduced many improvements based on your feedback.

Here is what is new:

  1. All Notes
You can now open all notes from all your books in one place directly from the Statistics screen. Search by note text or book title, filter notes by mood, and explore them using the calendar.

  2. Fiction and Nonfiction
Leero now suggests whether a book is fiction or nonfiction. You can edit it manually, and nonfiction reviews now include content, clarity, and value. We also added fiction and nonfiction insights to the most read subjects and most read authors statistics.

  3. Refreshed Rating Statistics
We redesigned the rating statistics to provide more detailed insights into your reading experience. You can explore reviews by mood, view books by content rating, and compare ratings across different periods.

  4. Yearly Reading Time
Tap the activity chart in the monthly Reading Time statistics to explore your reading activity for the entire year. You can also open each month to view all reading sessions from that period.

  5. New Note Moods
We refreshed note moods to better reflect different reading experiences. You can now choose from four groups: enjoyment, reflection, fatigue, and frustration.

  6. Reading Pace Tips
Set a finish goal for a book, and Leero will show how many pages, chapters, or minutes to complete during the current reading session.

  7. More Improvements

  • Added an ASIN field to the Publisher section in book details
  • Added local library search by ISBN and ASIN
  • Expanded Statistics with more data about sessions, dates, pages per hour, and reading activity
  • Updated the daily reading goal design with a streak for the last seven days
  • Fixed Perfect Days calculations
  • Fixed reading goal progress calculations on the Home screen
  • Resolved additional minor bugs and improved overall stability

Leero: Share Editor

Hello, friends 📚

This update introduces a new tool for book lovers and their social media: Share Editor. Now you can share your reading progress, achievements, sessions, and book collections in your own style. Choose a background, add custom text, and control which details appear in your post.

Here is what you can share now:

  1. One Book
Finished a book and want to tell your friends about it? Share it directly after completing it, or open any book in your library and tap Share This Book on the book details screen.

  2. Multiple Books
Share the books you have read toward a monthly or yearly goal. You can also select any books from your library and create a post featuring your recent reads, favorites, or a custom reading collection.

  3. Books Calendar
Create a calendar based post from your Statistics screen. Share your monthly reading activity, show how many books you finished, and highlight your progress throughout the month.

  4. Yearly Progress
Share a visual overview of your reading activity across the year. Show your progress, consistency, pages read, or time spent reading.

  5. Reading Session
After finishing a reading session, turn the moment into a personal post. Add a photo and write where you were reading, include a favorite quote, share a thought about the book, or mention how many cups of coffee accompanied the session.

And this is only the beginning 💪

We hope Share Editor helps you create useful and beautiful reading posts for any social media platform. Share your posts and mention instagram/@leero.app or threads/@leero.app 💜 Your feedback is really important to us, and we would appreciate hearing what you think about the Share Editor and what you would like us to add next ✨
